On November 15 there was joint festive celebration of the fifteen anniversary of the Credit Union League and one of the oldest credit unions in Russia, active member of the League – Credit Union “Rainbow”!

Early in the nineties the Credit Union League has been the first and the only association of credit cooperatives, and people standing at sources of credit cooperation revival in Russia, actually became parents and ideologists of the League. Much water has flowed under the bridge(s) since then and there were many events, but all who attended the anniversary recollected Alexander Auzan and Dina Plakhotnaya who are well known in credit cooperative society from professional point of view and human characteristics as well. From the stage lots of kind words of gratitude and wishes were addressed to them. After all they initiated development of credit cooperation!

This day many colleagues, friends and partners came to congratulate the Credit Union League and the Credit Union “Rainbow” on the anniversary and taking into consideration the number of attendants one may learn geography of our enormous country. Everyone in the words underlined the importance brought by the League at this or that stage of formation or development of their credit cooperative society or regional cu association.    

This significant day the League Credit Union got letters of congratulations from Anatoly Gubkin, Chairman of Microfinance and Credit Cooperative Subcommittee of the Committee for Financial Market of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Nikolayev, Vice-president of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Brian Branch, Vice-president of the World Council of Credit Unions and also partners from near and far abroad.

In its turn the management of the League made a present for visitors the book issued on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the League with the symbolical title – “Together!” The book includes background information connected with revival, formation and development of Russian credit cooperation, recollections of foreign partners on cooperation and also materials on credit cooperative activities in Russia.

Furthermore according to the approval the League Board this day honorable awards “Contribution to development of Russian credit consumer cooperation” were presented people who in daily work brought and continue bringing outstanding contribution to development of credit cooperation.
